A secluded guest house, accessed by a narrow footpath, projects into an intimate meadow set within the Calvin Coolidge Homestead heritage area.

A T-shaped hipped roof with large, razor-edge overhangs cap a playful façade crafted in the tradition of board and batten punctuated by mirrored panels and windows. The symmetrical plan organizes two bedroom suites along the edge of the forest while shared living spaces project into the meadow.

The interior spaces are defined by a minimalist palette of finished concrete floors, painted walls, western red cedar details, and custom beds and cabinetry to compliment the mid-century furnishings.

Inspired by the rhythm of transparency and opacity of its wooded setting.

Accessed by a narrow footpath, the secluded guest house is organized in a T-shaped symmetrical plan with bedrooms defining the edge of the forest and the living spaces projecting into the meadow.

An insulated radiant concrete thermal mass provides the heat throughout the home.
